Brian Roche has been DJing for more than 14 years. Originally from Ireland, Brian's career and DJing have spanned the globe. Playing with many of the 'greats' in the industry during many high profile events. Brian was one of a handful of DJs to pioneer internet radio in the United States. Setting the standard for internet radio and breaking barriers for other DJs.

Brian's success is partially due to his attitude and approach to DJing, believing, "... you're only as good as your last gig ... ". Satisfied but not content with his past achievements, Brian has always looked to the future and technology to differentiate himself and to reinvent his DJing.

Fast forward to present day and we find Brian innovating once again as he creates an even greater link between his vast studio skills and his DJing/performance. Abandoning conventional DJing (CDs and Vinyl) for computers, external sound cards and midi controllers. The DJ booth is alive with technology and better for it !

Continuing his love affair with Ableton Live, the program he calls, "... the greatest piece of software I've ever used !" Brian has reinvented his DJing and once again taken his performance, to the next level. Inspired by this technology and the infinite freedom/possibilities it provides, Brian now finds himself in a very unique position; it is now possible for him to unify his abilties as an artist and a DJ to perform live. "With Ableton Live I can realize a life long dream, to take DJing to the next level, to stand up there and truly 'perform'."

The ability to mix and remix other people's music on a whim, guided entirely by his mood and queues from a crowd, are what make Brian's DJ sets truly unique. The ability to morph sound, mix elements from different genres and experiment beyond his wildest dreams, have all contributed to Brian's new found enthusasism for DJing. "I just felt, after 14 years, if I didn't try something new I'd go out of my mind. With Ableton Live I can try something new every time I step behind the computer to perform. The best part about it is I have no idea what's going to happen!"

More than ten years ago, Brian was one of the first DJs to abandon vinyl and DJ entirely from CDs. His peers said he was crazy, that CDs would never replace vinyl.

We all know how that worked out. DJing from a computer is still a new concept, totally alien to the majority of the DJing community. Now Brian is pioneering once again, making magic, performing live, mixing and remixing on the fly, breaking down barriers ... however you want to describe it, after 14 years, he's still on top of his game!
